Entrepreneurs strive to revitalize Manitou Beach

Two entrepreneurs with ties to Hollywood have been hard at work transforming Manitou Beach from a forgotten backwater to a quaint lakeside destination.

David Gajda and Jose Malagon started with a vision and the burned out remains of the Manitou Inn in 2009 and in 2011 committed to rebuilding Manitou Beach Village. Gajda, who grew up in Garden City, Mich., spent his summers at Devils Lake. His late sister, Marie Parker, owned the Inn and when it was destroyed by fire in January 2009, the pair saw an opportunity not just to rebuild the tavern but improve the village as a whole…

We are excited to announce that the Manitou Beach Village has been featured in the “Six Pure Michigan Activities to Experience in Lenawee County” campaign! Here’s a little look at the article:

Devil’s Lake located less than 10 miles south of the track off of US-223, with a public boat access located on Southwest shore off Devils Lake Hwy (Across the street from 9555 Devils Lake Hwy, Manitou Beach). Manitou Beach is a great place for a bike ride, with stops at Jenni’s Coffee and Cream for an iced coffee or ice cream cone. Enjoy lunch or dinner at Manitou Bar and Grill and shopping at Devils Lake View Living, and The Buoy at The Lake which both offer jewelry, purses, home décor and more.
